FARMHOUSES

The Giustiniani-Bandini Foundation owns a rich housing stock consisting of 70 farmhouses. These rural buildings are typical of Region Marche and have retained their original beauty because they have been owned by one landowner who has always taken great care of them. Their major features are: exposed brickwork, external brick staircase to the first floor, terracotta and timber beam floors, brick vaulted cellars. They usually have wells, henhouses, cowsheds, pigsties, and an oven to bake bread. Most of these farmhouses are still inhabited by the farmers who cultivate the Foundation’s lands, while a few of them can accommodate visitors.
